Tags: Organize and Filter Your Items in SKU DRIP

If you're managing dozens of products, keeping track of everything is easy. If you're managing hundreds or thousands, it isn't.
As your catalog grows, the same questions start coming up again and again: which items are seasonal, which ones have thin margins, which suppliers need closer attention, which listings still need a manual review. Scrolling through a massive table looking for the same handful of products every week is not a good use of your time.
That's why we built Tags.
This SKU DRIP feature lets you label your items with custom, color-coded tags and instantly filter your entire catalog by them—turning a long, undifferentiated list of products into something you can actually organize and act on.
Why Tags Matter
The bigger your catalog gets, the more it needs structure. A supplier field tells you where a product comes from. A marketplace field tells you where it's sold. But neither one tells you the things that actually matter to your business— which items are part of this month's promotion, which ones you're watching because of tight margins, which ones a virtual assistant flagged for review.
Tags fill that gap. They're completely free-form, so you decide what matters and how to group it, rather than being limited to fields SKU DRIP predefines for you.
A few examples of how sellers use tags:
- Margin tracking — tag items High Margin or Low Margin to quickly find candidates for a pricing review.
- Seasonal campaigns — group items under Summer or Holiday so you can find and manage them together during a specific time of year.
- Internal workflow — flag problem listings with something like Needs Review or Slow Shipping, then process them in bulk later using Multi Actions.
- Supplier quality — mark items from suppliers you're not fully confident in, so they're easy to keep an eye on.
None of this requires any special setup. You create tags as you go, right from the items table.
How Tags Work
Every item in your Items table has a Tag column with a simple input field.
- Click inside the field for any item.
- Type a tag name and press Enter or a comma to add it.
- Add as many tags as you need—if the list gets long, the field simply scrolls.
- Remove a tag from that item at any time by clicking the small × next to it.
The first time you create a tag, it's automatically available for every other item too—there's no need to set anything up in advance. If a tag with that name already exists, SKU DRIP reuses it instead of creating a duplicate.
Color-Coding for Faster Scanning
With a large catalog, colors do a lot of the work your eyes would otherwise have to do. Every new tag starts out with the same default color, but you're not stuck with it.
Click the icon next to the Tag column header to open the tag management window. From there you can:
- Assign a distinct color to any tag—the new color is applied everywhere that tag appears.
- Delete a tag entirely if you no longer need it.
Once your most important tags each have their own color, you can scan a page of a hundred items and immediately spot the ones that need attention.
One thing worth keeping in mind: deleting a tag from the management window removes it from every item that uses it, not just the one you happened to be looking at, and this can't be undone. Removing a tag from a single item, on the other hand, is done directly in that item's Tag field and doesn't affect anything else.
Filtering Your Catalog by Tag
Organizing your items is only half the value—being able to find them again quickly is the other half.
On the Items page, switch to the Filters tab. Alongside the other filter groups, you'll find a Tag section listing every tag you've created.
Select one or more tags, and the table instantly narrows down to only the items that carry those tags. Want to see everything marked Summer before launching a seasonal promotion? Select it and you have your list in seconds. Need to review every item you flagged as Needs Review across all your suppliers and marketplaces at once? The same filter handles that too.
Built for Large Catalogs
Whether you're managing a few hundred items or tens of thousands, Tags scale with your catalog rather than getting in the way of it. There's no limit on how many tags you create or how you choose to use them—the system is intentionally open-ended so it can adapt to however you already think about your inventory.
